ATHENS, July 22.—An official communique announcing the occupation of Eski-Shehr was issued at midnight Wednesday, at which time, owing to the heat, thousands of people were still in the streets. A patriotic demonstration on a great scale immediately followed. Church bells were rung and fireworks were set off.
Premier Gounaris announced the Greek victory in the chamber at 11 o'clock and the deputies stood and cheered the army and the king, after which, headed by the ministers, they walked in procession to the cathedral to attend a te deum at which the queen, the princesses and other dignitaries were present.
