Package Sale of Domestic Goods.—We learn that our indefatigable townsman, Mr. William P. Greene, will, on Saturday the 9th of September next, expose for sale at Public Auction a large quantity of Domestic Goods, probably to the amount of one thousand Bales. Mr. Greene was the first to get up these sales, and from the success he has had, we doubt not he will meet with every encouragement, from those of our manufacturing neighbors who are solicitous to establish a home market for the sale of their productions.

It is certainly desirable in these times of mercantile speculation, to establish a home market, that the manufacturer may be secured against those frauds of speculation which are but too commonly practised in the common course of trade, and which are so ruinous to the cause of Domestic Industry.

The last sales effected by Mr. Greene, were uncommonly successful, and as they called into our market many of the dealers in the articles of Domestic fabric, it is believed that a home market is already commenced, which needs nothing but hearty and cheerful co-operation on the part of the manufacturers, to render it permanent, and highly beneficial to our flourishing enterprising community. We hope that our manufacturing friends who feel an interest in so good a cause, will order their consignments in time, that they may aid in the establishment of a home mart, which is so devoutly hoped for.
