Coaches Oppose Metric System

BOSTON, May 26. (U.P.) - The controversial metric system for track and field measurements was given another setback when members of Track Coaches' Association of America registered their disapproval of the change from the linear system at a meeting here last night.

On a motion made by R. L. (Dink) Templeton, coach of the Stanford track team, the association voted 22 to 3 against the metric system.

J. Fred Powers of Brown was elected president, succeeding Edward Farrell of Harvard. Emil Von Elling of New York university, was chosen vice-president, and Harry L. Hillman of Dartmouth, secretary-treasurer.
