Marion, Ind., July 15.—At 11 o'clock this morning an organized mob of 100 men marched into town and halted in front of the jail containing Lewis, the negro who outraged Miss Vincent. Sheriff Holman who had repulsed a mob on the previous night, killing one man and wounding several others, appeared and stated that he was still prepared to defend the prisoner, and warned them against making an attack. This appeared to take the spirit out of the leaders, and in a short time the mob withdrew. All is now quiet and no further trouble is anticipated.
