EDISON BUYS NEW-MEXICO MINES.
Santa Fe, N. M., Sept. 4 (Special).—A mine deal was concluded to-day by which the Ortiz land grant passed into the hands of representatives of Thomas A. Edison. The grant of several thousand acres was owned by the New-Mexico Mining Company; the consideration is said to be $1,000,000. S. G. Burn of New-York, who represented Edison and his associates, has been in the grant several times making a thorough inspection of it and is thoroughly acquainted with the ore. Edison has a new process to treat the vast bodies of low grade ores and gold placer beds on the property successfully.
