CHICAGO -- Cattle--Receipts, 11,000: fed steers and yearlings steady to strong; better grades slow; prospects lower at close; generally steady trade on other classes except vealers, latter 25c to 50c lower; best matured steers $13.75 early; killing quality improved; fairly liberal supply choice weighty steers here; steers of value to sell at $12.00 downward, getting better action than choice kinds, selling at $13.00 upward; most fed steers, $10.25@12.25; yearlings, $9.75@11.00; talking $9.50@11.00 on vealers.
Sheep--Receipts, 15,000; market opening fairly active, generally steady with Tuesday: three doubles of choice Idaho lambs top packers, $17.00; 47 head out at $14.00; four doubles good California lambs sorted 10 per cent, $16.65; good to choice mediumweight dry fed clipped lambs, $14.75; early bulk clippers, $13.75-14.25; grassy kinds down to $13.00; few clipped culls, $10.00@11.00; desirable fat clipped ewes, $6.50@7.00; no choice lightweights sold; two double choice around 104 pounds California yearling wethers, $13.25; feeding lambs, late Tuesday, $13.25.
