WAS GOOD RAIN WATER.
Two Iowans Who Will Likely Not Be Prosecuted for Bootlegging.

Des Moines, Ia., Oct. 21.-Since the state fair a number of persons have asked United States marshals to prosecute two men, who operated on the fair grounds, for violating the revenue laws.

An investigation showed that the men gave out the impression that they were "boot-legging" whisky, and when customers appeared told them that they were not selling whisky, but rain water. The thirsty ones, thinking it was a ruse, each bought a bottle and paid 40 cents for a half pint. Later they found that the men had told the truth, and they really had purchased rain water, containing some slight coloring matter. The officers found the two men who had engaged in the traffic and they said they sold fully a barrel of excellent rain water at 40 cents a half pint, and never represented it to be anything else. They have not been prosecuted and probably will not be molested.
