A Better Way
In The New Republic, Lincoln Wells sounds the alarm. As a result of his investigations in the nations of Central America he is "firmly convinced that Mexico is challenging Uncle Sam for the position of commanding influence in these countries." Well, we shan't lose sleep over that. But if anyone insists on worrying about it we can at least point out the obvious moral. Mexico uses gifts of high power radio stations and the propaganda of general friendliness. We use marines, guns and high powered business men. Maybe Mexico has found the better way.-L. I. D.
