Roosevelt saved the Plain People by aiding the Steel trust with its hundreds of millions of watered stock to take over its much squeezed competitor, and only one, the Tennessee Coal & Iron company. The question is, and a simple one, How much had the Steel trust and the various officials contributed to the republican campaign funds in the two preceding Root-Cortelyou-Taft kind of elections?
And if their contributions had been made to the democratic party instead of the republican party, Will Teddy answer?
