Hartly, Sept. 4.-A very serious accident happened Wednesday afternoon in this place about 4 o'clock, one man being fatally injured and another very badly hurt, when the automobile truck in which they were riding was struck by a freight train. Raymond Tibbitt, age 50 years, a resident of Blanco, just across the state line near Millington, Md., died shortly after six o'clock Wednesday evening, August 29, in the Kent General Hospital as a result of his wounds. James Embert, a resident of the same place is a patient in the hospital suffering from numerous cuts and bruises but will recover. The two men had delivered a truck load of tomatoes to the canning plant of Neal and Son and had turned the truck around to return to their home apparently unaware of the approach of the train.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Powell were guests on Wednesday of Mr. Powell's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Powell.

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Leager spent the past week in Dover with Mr. Leager's mother who is seriously ill.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Phillips entertained company on Sunday.

Mrs. Sybil Klaes has returned home after spending several weeks with her daughters in New York and Philadelphia. Miss Madeline Klaes of Philadelphia, returned with her mother for the week-end.

Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Powell and Mr. and Mrs. G. S. Patterson spent Sunday at Tolchester.

Mr. Joseph Taylor and daughter Miss Elva Taylor, entertained company on Sunday.

Miss Dorothy and Floria Duffield of Lansdale, Pa., spent the past week with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Moore near town.
