DRY POINTS
BY FRED GRAM

A new crisis in our Southeast Asia policy. Washington has taken a closer look at the Viet Nam Ship of State, and it turns out to be nothing more than a little old rowboat.

At the rate they are laying down and tearing up new roads, we get the impression that highway planning consists mainly of absent-mindedness and afterthought.

The suicidal tendencies of Americans are again revealed in the statistics: record-breaking sales of cigarets and automobiles.

Republican presidential kingmakers are confounded by the fact that they no sooner find a likely prospect than the candidate's overly partisan supporters plant their kiss of death on him. What is really needed here is a candidate who has no friends.

The latest outbreak of pesticide poisoning has created a really serious problem by attacking the fruit-pickers. If they can't get the stuff picked, how in the world can the growers get it to the consumers?
