TOKYO, Sept. 5.
Prisoners released from camps in Japan number 2,283, 562 of whom had been working in copper mines. The prisoners from the mines, with few exceptions, looked emaciated. They told of Jap brutality and long hours of work and barely enough food to keep them alive.
Seven trains, it was reported, are due to arrive in Yokohama shortly with 2,047 prisoners.
Of the prisoners thus far released, 850 have been flown to Okinawa and Manila.
