It was again weighed on the 15th inst. at three months old, and found to weigh 336 lbs. being an increase of 228 lbs. or more than 2 1/2 lbs. a day. Twenty-two was the number to be chosen, but no choice was effected, and the City authorities determined that it was too late to notify any subsequent meeting for the purpose. Consequently Boston will be represented the current year in the Legislature by eight Representatives only. The project for an amalgamation of parties, more through the fastidiousness of certain Federalists than from any other cause, met with an unexpected and unwarrantable opposition.
