THE FORTY-NINTH STATE
Hail! Alaska! The Forty-Ninth State
Greater than Texas, classed first rate
Land of fish and snow
Home of the Sourdough
State flower the Forget-Me-Not
Signifies friendship memory and thought
Alaska's landscape sceneries are fine
God's original design
Sunsets all colors -- silver and gold
Wild garden beauty to behold.
The Great Land - vast region wide
Southwest - the Pacific Ocean-
North to the Arctic tide
West the Arctic Ocean-the Bering Sea
Extending east to Yukon Canadian boundary.
Two mighty rivers flow within
The Yukon and the Kuskokwim
Mountain ranges, grandeur, unique
Mt. McKinley loftiest snow capped peak.
Across the sky on wintry nights
Glide midnight rainbows Northern Lights.
Alaskan cities built with pride
Up to date as those "stateside."
Juneau. Anchorage, and Skagway:
Nome, Fairbanks, Kodiak Bay.
Other towns in this Great Land
Sitka, Petersburg and Ketchikan .
All Hail Alaska! The Forty-Ninth State!
And Hail! To the Sourdough who made it great!
