A steamboat on her way from St. Jago de Cuba to Havana, burst her boiler on the morning of the 3d inst. The vessel was very much shattered. The 1st and 3d engineers, two deck passengers, seven slaves, and a waiter, were instantly killed. The captain, who was in his berth at the time, immediately ran towards the engine, and in so doing was struck down in an instant by the carbonic acid discharged from the boiler. The steam that escaped from the pipe and boilers, was a deadly poison to every one that approached it. The captain and another seaman died in about three hours after the accident, making in all 14 deaths, which number may be increased from among the wounded.
