Dear Sir:
You recently printed the following JTA news item in your valuable publication:
"LONDON, (JTA) - Two destroyers acquired by Israel from the Royal Navy two months ago and re-christened the Elath and Yaffo, are being refitted at the Liverpool Naval Dockyard."
The item speaks for itself. How could you permit such a line and how can the Jewish Telegraphic Agency look itself in the face having sent such an item to the entire world? In my opinion, this expression nullifies everything Judaic in Israel.
I expect an explanation to me personally and a printed apology.
Sincerely yours,
Morris H. Kahme

Editor's note:
Mr. Kahme deserves considerable credit for having spotted this item and having brought this point to our attention. The expression "re-christened" for naming two Israel vessels is definitely a poor choice of words because of its connotation of meaning. We are sure the J.T.A. correspondent used the expression without thinking. Many thanks, Mr. Kahme!
