Baer Tangled In Dates With Fight Promoters
SAN FRANCISCO, May 26 (U.P.) -While Leonard D. Sacks and Jack Dempsey went ahead with their plans for a Max Baer-King Levinsky "finish" prizefight at Reno July 4, Baer today faced the possibility of fighting in Oakland, Calif., July 5.

The California Boxing commission ordered him to keep an engagement made for him by J. Hamilton Lorimer, one of his managers, to meet Arthur De Kuh. Refusal to fight De Kuh, members indicated, may result in suspension in this state.

"I won't fight at Oakland for Lorimer," Baer told the United Press. He indicated he would let his attorneys handle the legal aspects of refusal.

Louis Parente, promoter of the Baer-De Kuh fight, was reported going ahead with his plans for July 5 regardless. Sacks planned to confer with Gov. Fred Balzar of Nevada regarding the July 4 affair. If that official permits, he said, the fight will go until one or the other of the fighters is knocked out. Nevada permits 25 round bouts.

He refused to disclose what financial arrangements have been made for the fight. Baer, by terms of his agreement with Sacks, may not fight between now and July 4.
