Washington (ANP)-The March provided thousands of persons with their first chance to see the nation's capital, but they had little time for sight seeing.
One was 81 year old Henry Hughes of Birmingham who arrived here on one of the six special buses carrying an Alabama delegation of about 300.
Informed he was 753 miles from home, Hughes shook his head and admitted he had never been so far away before.
He said he saw so many huge white buildings from his bus window and while walking about that he wasn't sure if he saw the White House which he had especially wanted to see.
Asked if he were tired after a trying day, most of which he spent on his feet, he said "No I've worked hard all my life, so I'm pretty strong man even at my age. I've worked for 12 hours at a stretch, so just standing around and walking wasn't any hardship."
He admitted, however, that he might spend most of the 20 hours required for the return trip snoozing.
