BACKED WOOD WITH HALF A MILLION

WASHINGTON, May 26.—William C. Proctor of Cincinnati has advanced $500,000 to the campaign fund of General Wood, he testified today at the Senate investigation of pre-convention presidential campaign financing.

Proctor said this advance was "more than all other contributions to Wood's campaign." and added that he had individually contributed $10,000.

WASHINGTON, May 26.—Contributions to the campaign of Attorney General Palmer for the Democratic presidential nomination were today placed at $59,610, by former Representative C. C. Carlin of Virginia, the campaign manager.
